This is why doing your due diligence before going to a restaurant is important. You don't go to The Nook for a great meal. You go here for the totchos and fish bowls...period. The totchos (tater tot nachos) hit the spot every time and are a perfect complement to your fish bowl.
Here are the fish bowl instructions:
Split with 0 people - good luck
Split with 1 person - fun night ahead
Split with 2 people - the sweet spot
Split with 3 people - slightly responsible but not
Split with 4 people - solid choice for beginners
Split with 5 or more people - why'd you come?
If you go for brunch, honestly just get the Bloody Best because if you get anything else, you'll be disappointed. If you want to do it right, go for a late afternoon snack or a pre-game for a fun night out and you won't regret it. -

Our first time visiting this place last night and will be the last. They had us waiting for over an hour. Once we finally got sat down we weren't assigned a waiter until we complained again. Luckily the wonderful, fantastic, numero uno, Edwin Venegas came to the rescue. He waited us without us being in his section. Give that man a raise and some papers while you at it. His service was emasculate!
The drinks were decently good, food not the best in my opinion. I also did find two long hairs in the meat of my bean burger in which we were compensated free drinks. Still very disappointed. -

What happened to this place? :(
I've been coming to The Nook once a week (usually after sports at Piedmont Park) for a little over five years. Friendly staff, great food, amazing patio, and the best Dark and Stormy in Atlanta. It was easily one of my top ten spots in town.
But something has changed. Where to begin...
For the past three weeks, there has been a terrible smell inside. It smells like someone puked on the floor, which was then cleaned up with week-old mop water. Seriously, can you guys not smell that?
I've ordered food twice in my last three visits and both times, it was either undercooked, served room temperature, or just plain bad.
The one saving grace was the Dark and Stormy. Alas, I ordered a D&S yesterday and it was terrible. I left the glass 75% full and just left. Perhaps for the last time.
I know restaurant owners hate Yelp and hate negative reviews like this. But if you're reading this, know that I was one of your regulars. And now I'm not. And that has nothing to do with Yelp.
My only guess is that the restaurant is under new management and/or ownership. Unfortunately, if something doesn't change, The Nook may be joining the Atlanta Restaurant graveyard sooner than later. -

I've been to the Nook on a number of occasions and I've enjoyed it. This time wasn't the greatest. I went late on a Saturday night with my sister and friend. We decided to sit on the patio. We ordered the smoked wings with buffalo as an appetizer.the wings were actually pretty good, but took some time to come out. While there was a large party there, it honestly wasn't that many people. I also got the local lemonade to drink which was pretty good.
During our weighting experience an unwanted guest decided to appear which was off putting. I'm not 100% blaming the restaurant because we're in the city and outside, but yeah seeing a rat was not fun. It was along the brick wall in which I was sitting on I might add. Needless to say we all jumped from the table before it could get to us. A group that was there left while my party and another were offered seats inside. Let's just say that rat was never found.
Upon moving inside we were told there had been an issue with the printers, but it got fixed and our food would be coming up shortly. It was maybe 10:30 by the time we got it and that point I wasn't very hungry anymore nor could my body handle the amount of food given. They definitely give generous portions of food. I got the nacho totchos which were really good, but I just couldn't eat most of it because it was late and I somewhat lost my appetite. I didn't take it home because it just would have been soggy. I did enjoy the crispiness of the tots though. They did have to take my dish back to the kitchen because it was suppose to have grilled chicken on it and mine didn't have any on it. My sister got the white bean chicken chili and it was cold, and our friend said her chicken sandwich didn't have much taste so there were definitely some misses on this visit.
Our waitresses were nice though. There was a girl training and I think she did really well and was good overall.
I was looking forward to going since I haven't been in awhile, but it definitely wasn't what I expected this time. I also noticed their rating was an 83 which had me a bit leary, but since I've been a number of times before I didn't really think anything of it. It might be a good while before I step back in there if I'm being honest though. -

Decided to visit after completing the AIDS walk/Run because 10% of all proceeds went to that. We didn't have much of a wait to be seated, just waited for them to clean a table because it was busy. Our server Laina was really nice and added recommendations to our orders. She recommended that I get the black bean burger as a wrap and I really enjoyed it as a wrap. Overall the experience was great, food was great. I'm giving it 5 stars!
